Default Autolite spark plugs

The OEM plugs are $12.18/plug, and autolite iridiums are $4.79/plug. Anybody have experience with autolite plugs?
Thanks!

I asked if anyone has experience or knowledge with autolite plugs. Not whether you have a baseless opinion.

Dude, seriously..? the oem's is only $7-8 more a plug and you want to switch to a no brand cause of that? you only change out your sparks out every 60k. Is not like an oil change. PLUS you drive a LEXUS!!

Mong,

It's a $42 difference. If there's no difference in quality, why in the world would you pay $42 more? That would be called a ripoff. It's the same reason why you would pay only $20 for an oil change rather than $60 at Lexus.

That is why I am trying to gather information about the quality of the spark plugs.

Feel free to waste your money, but I enjoy saving mine.

I don't think you'll find that many people that have used non-OEM spark plugs simply because the OEM ones are pretty cheap so there's no real reason to find cheaper plugs. There's nothing wrong with the Lexus plugs, and you change them every 60k anyway. I understand your trying to measure the "quality" of the spark plugs against OEM, but its not like thats something easily measurable...

Found some info on bobistheoilguy:

I'll be going with OEM. Apparently autolite is "iridium enhanced" not completely iridium. Now I have no clue what the heck that means, so if someone wants to clarify, please do.

The one time I "cheaped-out" and went with Autolite spark plugs the washer fell off the bottom of the plug while in the spark plug tube and laid at the bottom of the tube. I had nothing like an expandable magnet tool, so I had to fish it out with a wire hanger. Not how I wanted to spend 30 minutes of my life. Never again!

Spend a buck cheapskate. You're driving a Lexus, not a Honda! These are internal parts rarely changed...If you plan to keep your car, get OEM. If you don't give a *****, get cheap plugs!

you're talking about labor(changing the oil yourself or letting lexus do it) vs parts(oem{a proven part and is pacifically made for our car vs a questionable part). Those are 2 completely different things.. whatever man.. is on YOU. Is YOUR car, not mine.

NTB has oil change coupons from $10-$20. Pep boys will price match them. All 6.7 quarts and filter. It's cheaper to have them do it than doing it yourself. Definitely a ton cheaper than going to the dealership. Plus, they both allow you to watch them work on your car.

So, Mong, I am talking about the quality of the "parts" itself. Price does not necessarily correlate with quality.

Will you pay $1 for a generic pill vs. $30 for the original pill, when they do the same thing? Where does the money go? It goes towards marketing, development, etc. Not necessarily quality. Knowing this, I'd rather save a buck, if the quality is the same.

If you see in the previous post, quality is not the same, according to the people on bobistheoilguy.

Bro go oem. The oem plugs are mostly by NGkwhich are the top of the line plugs period in my opinion. Autolite are cheap crap that'll prolly end up damaging ur car internally.
