Default Should I do this TSIB?

Title: M.I.L. “ON” DTC P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303, P0304, P0305, OR P0306
Models: ’06 IS 250

After a cold soak startup, some 2006 model year IS 250 vehicles may exhibit a M.I.L. “ON” condition with one or more of the following DTCs stored within 60 seconds of initial engine run time.
S P0300 (Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected)
S P0301 (Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected)
S P0302 (Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected)
S P0303 (Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected)
S P0304 (Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected)
S P0305 (Cylinder 5 Misfire Detected)
S P0306 (Cylinder 6 Misfire Detected)
The valve lash adjuster and valve spring have been improved to prevent any of the above DTCs from setting.

I experienced symptoms this past winter in January, but haven't had any problems since then. I'm about 2000 miles from 70k and was wondering if I should bring my car in to get this TSIB done even though it's not exhibiting any problems currently. Or is this one of those, if it ain't broke don't fix it moments?

I would just get it done, if they will let you. If it comes back after the warranty expires they'll be doing the same thing in that TSIB but charging you for it.

It seems like your car might have to be throwing a code for them to do the repair though.

I believe the dealer will refuse to fix it for you if you don't currently have a check engine light. I haven't had it done so I have no experience with this.

Well, the last time I brought my car into the dealer for an oil change, I showed them this TSIB and asked if they would do it for me as long as my car is still covered under that 72 month/70k mile warranty. They said they would and asked if I wanted to schedule it but I decided not to since it seems like a pretty big procedure; didn't want them to take apart my engine and risk messing something else up if I didn't need this fix done.

So assuming I can still go back to the dealer and get it done without the "Check Engine" light on, is it something you guys think I should get done regardless of symptoms of the problem?

^ I would get it done. Any reputable Lexus dealership can get the job done without causing any issues. And if the issue does come back soon after your warranty expires, you can even tell corporate that you had it "fixed" under warranty and its still occuring (usually they'll fix again for free).

If you have a nice enough dealership that will perform it for you without showing the symptoms/CEL codes, do it, but I doubt they will. To get compensation from Lexus corporate, the dealership has to show that you had the symptoms described in the TSIB.
