Vaistech SL2iC on 06 is250
I recently got a 06 is250 with navigation (non-ML), and I'm loving it. I just got a spec.dock as well, and it's a nice fit. Now I want to add iPhone control. I'm looking at the Vaistech SL2iC and I'm wanting to know:
1. Will the navi unlock (allowing you to input addresses while driving) work on the 06 is250 with this?
2. Will the video out for iPhone (ie., podcast videos) play on the screen with this?
3. Is this the best option for iPhone control and video out?

http://specdock.com ... $150 plus shipping. Kind of hefty, but I really wanted a clean look for my dock. I'm planning on getting a black insert, but after the iPhone 5 comes out.

You can bypass your navi with 06 model....search FAQ for instruction. If you want to update navi map in future, be sure you make a copy of Loading.kwi file from your disc and replace loading kwi file from the update dvd with that one then burn a hybrid disc. Video quality and sound is crystal clear, but you will need to do navi hack if you want to watch video in motion.
that's a clean dock but i just can't justify paying 150 for a piece of plastic that holds up my phone.. someone correct me if i'm wrong but once you put install the vaistech, you must use their cable as well..?
Yeah, my wife had issues with 150 for dock. She wanted to make one herself. But I just wanted something quick and something that looks really nice. They made it for me with a female cable, so I can insert any iPhone cable into it.
OP, I originally purchased the SL2iC but quickly switched to the ML+ after learning about the digital audio, among other benefits. I already have the PS module so that made the decision much easier. VaisTech also said some time ago that they they're working on a nav override add-on for the ML+, which you can ask them about.
I assume you're asking if the ML+ (the VaisTech unit) will work in non-ML (Mark Levinson). The answer is yes; however, ML owners will have a greater benefit given the higher sound quality coupled with digital audio from the ML+.
