Default Tpms ?!

I bought some TPMS off of ebay, and am I going to be able to reprogram it to my car(IS250 06)? I had a couple of guys tell me that I couldn't reprogram it. The I purchased said it was compatible with all Lexus 06 and up. Anyone have any knowledge on the TPMS?

You have to take them to the dealer... they can do it for you ... (I think)

AFAIK, your dealership and third party shops that can program TPMS use the exact same equipment (or at least underlying technology). Post in your regional forum and see if anyone has a shop referral. Also, what's the part number on your eBay TPMS sensors?

Your local dealer will be able to do it with a Techstream. Some shops that have higher end scan tools should be able to program the IDs as well.

If you have both a summer and winter set of wheels, be sure they don't wipe out your factory IDs.. these cars allow for two sets (8 IDs total) to be programmed!

Like stated above, YOU will not be able to program the sensors and neither will some smaller shops or tire chains that use a generic magnetic tool for all TPMS vehicles that trips and resets the sensors, you actually need to have them "programmed" to your vehicle by a dealer, or shop that has the correct tool for Lexus.

Just go to a Toyota dealership and ask them to program the tpms as a second set. It should cost you about $85. Lexus will literally rip off your limbs as soon as you ask for a price quote, lol.

^^Why do I sense a little sarcasm...

I'm going to guess PMV-107J. That's the typical TPMS sensors CL members buy from eBay/OEWheels.

Just making sure... I bought my second set of TPMS sensors from OEwheels as well. Toyota or any other car shops with the correct programming tool will be able to do them for you... I went with Toyota because none of my local shops were able to program them.

keep me updated if you can get them programmed. I just got my rims in today, now I am waiting on my car to get out from the body shop from hail damage.
