Just wanted to introduce myself...my name is Jacob and I am in the St. Louis area...Air Force veteran, now Construction Project Engineer/Manager of US Army Corps of Engineers.
I have wanted an IS since I first saw a 300 on base back on Shaw AFB in South Carolina and I have finally picked one up after various Nissan products. I went with the Starfire Pearl...fully loaded except for the F-Sport bits. Loving the car so far, got a set of 19" staggered fit wheels in route, dolphin grey in color. Just had the windows tinted with 15%, so pics to come after I get the wheels on.
Next step would be a slight drop, but I would really like to keep my ride quality as it is a Lexus by all means, so it should ride like one in my mine. I think I saw somewhere that a person was riding with:
TEIN Luxury H-Tech
Amount of drop:0,8" Rear and 1" Front
Not a big drop but he reported his ride quality was as good or better than stock...so that may be my route as well.
Either way so far so good...and to be sure I still wanted an IS I test drove the 250, of course, MB C350, Audi A4, and the Infiniti G37x. Got to say the G37x felt more like a sports car and is a bit bigger inside, but it was just like my 09 Maxima SV, so been there done that and the IS is just so dayum sexy.
And of course after test driving both the 250 and 350...I was deciding between a used 250 or a new 350...the 250 was in my first choice the dark graphite color, but no navi, etc...and the 350 was in white with navi and all the extras and only $80 payment difference, so I went new lol. Glad I did...plus my last 4 cars have all been black.
Either way, I hope to enjoy this car for years to come. Anyone know when a full revamp is coming?
My last couple cars were black or darker colors as well, my silver with light grey leather is a blessing in the summer heat. And the lighter colors seem to stay cleaner longer. You will love the 350!!! 19'' rims and a drop were the first things I did too, makes the car look even better!!!
Welcome to the club Jacob, Glad you enjoying your ride... Looking forward to the pictures... what kind of wheels did you put on ?? Well, take it easy...
Off note: Glad to see another veteran running around...
