After some problems, I found out my battery is about to die on me soon. A friend and I checked my battery and it's reading 12.4 volts with the car off. I added like 30 ounces of distilled water to it too and noticed the indicator was red with white around, meaning "Charging Necessary". So should I just recharge my battery or buy a new one?
I'm deciding between the factory battery or a Duralast Gold one. Anyone know the price of the factory batteries or could recommend any that they like? Thanks!

i dont know much about batteries but in my opinion unless you want to buy an optima for around $200 which you really only need if you have a big stereo, you are not going to notice a big difference between batteries from all of the large auto parts stores as they are all from the 3 main battery manufactures (Johnson controls, Exide and Delphi)
i just bought a duralast gold and the fitment was good, the black sleeve that fits around the battery was a little tight but it still fits

Whatever you can buget for it really. If you can afford an Optima, why not. But like you, I'll soon be needing a battery. I'll probably end up going to the local battery store/shop and get something thats in the same group. Maybe $70-80 is my guess. 5yr warranty too!

They say usually 3-5 years. My IS350 was manufactured in 05/07 and now it's 07/11 so mine lasted me more than 4 years. I could still keep using it but I wouldn't mind spending $123 for a new battery for the next 4 years and not worry about it. My car's been in Michigan for 3 years with the previous owner, now in Chicago with me, so the battery deals with cold weather and warm weather.
Not sure of the exact manufacture date on my '06 350...but mine was a PA/NJ car (always garaged), and now it's obviously a SC car. I'd say 5 years on the OE battery is plenty. Not gonna risk a no-stop condition in the winter though; so I'll be getting one before then.
For S.A.G.s I looked at what Sewell charges for an OEM...OMG! LOL

I went to Sam's Club and had an Interstate battery installed for $75 including installation and tax. It is the top rated battery in our group size according to Consumer Reports. I am very happy with it.

Yup, got an email from McGrath Lexus in Chicago, they said battery is $107. Sounds good but it apparently has just 575 CCA's. That's weak, I'm going to save $7 and buy a Duralast Gold with 725 CCA's instead.
