glass guru's, need your help/removing black strip behind rearview mirror
I uninstalled my rearview mirror since I hacked my rear camera to come on when I want to. So it acts as my rearview mirror.
Long story short, There is a black strip on my 2006 that is behind the rearview mirror along with a "dot matrix" on the windshield as well. Do any of you know how to remove this black strip? It feels like a sticker but for the life of me I can't even get a razor blade under it.
The sole reason for all this other then it looks odd to see the strip from the driver / passenger seat is that I'm going to be laying tint down on the windshield to assist with the Florida sun.
Thanks in advance

This has to be the "not so smart" mod of the year, put that mirror back on. I don't want you hitting me cause you will rely on the back up cam. my backup cam doesn't show it all just like yours!

Hmm I think I'm going to remove the engine and rely on hills for the car to move around. I had a friend remove his rearview mirror for a 7" screen in its place with a camera molded to wing on top of rear window. very wide view, shows quite a bit but still have to look in blind spots. its ok, but it's still no rear mirror.

Not much help here
this entire thread is a joke, the only person with half a bain cell is the person that started the thread in the first place, every cement thereafter is off topic posted by someone without a cent of common sense just taking the **** for the sake of it, why would it be illegal not to have a rear view interior mirror? lots of vans don't even have a back window so an interior mirror would be useless anyway, and im pretty confident there isent a single arctic lorry out there with a usable interior mirror since there is a whopping tailor in the way of its view anyway and there legal to drive on the road.
That said I ended up here trying to find a way to remove the black hash dots around my interior mirror in order to mount a forward facing dash cam behind the mirror out of the way, but since all the members here don’t seam to have any sensible input to real world problems I guess I will continue my search elsewhere.
