Directional Tire Question
Hi all, I have a bubble in one of my Dunlop factory tires on the driver side, so it needs to be replaced. My question is when I tried to order from tire rack, it doesn't give me the option to choose driver side or passenger side. My understanding is that driver side tires should always stay on the driver side otherwise they will perform poorly according to the owner's manual. can someone shed some light on this?
Thanks.

Directional tires means you can put them front and back.
What you are referring to is staggering which relates to positional dependence, which is seen in high end tires why you do not see this option.

You can rotate directional tires side to side as long as you're willing to unmount them to do it.
^ That's right, directional tires are all the same. The sidewalls are exactly the same on both sides of the tire too so a directional tire can be mounted anywhere on the car. If you don't have a staggered set-up, you can rotate your tires but they will all have to be unmounted, remounted, and balanced again.
