Default Does anyone know? (what the "I" in "IS" stands for?)

After owning my Lexus for almost 2 years... on my way out for dinner my gf, she asked "whats the "I" in the IS?"
I answered "hmm... the "I" is for "I" dont know..."

I know that ES = Executive Sedan, GS = Grand Sedan, LS = Luxury Sedan, SC = Sports Coupe. but whats IS??

When I got my 300 I was told Individual Sport. *shrug*

Doesn't make sense to me. But then again he had a very heavy Russian accent.

Interesting how the 'S' in the other models stands for "Sedan" while the IS is for "Sport".

How about the C in IS C??

Not to be a jerk or anything but it's pretty obvious that the "c" in IS-C stands for convertible.
