so how quick is the IS350
#32
I had a 370 WHP STi that did 0-60 in 4.29 sec. Honestly, the IS 350 doesn't really feel that much slower. Also, to put it in persepctive; when I was in Afghanistan, my wife told me I could buy ANY car within reason (I made six figures tax free- why not!!!). This included an M3, 335i, S4, IS-F, C63, you name it... I chose the IS 350. It was the wisest of choices. I am 100% convinced there is not another car on this planet that has as much utility, reliability, comfort, economy and speed for the money. It is truly well rounded. The STi and G37 are the only others in the discussion IMHO. I was this close to pulling the trigger on the IS-F, but I would feel guilty on the depreciation value when I packed on the miles everyday.

I don't really consider many cars 'fast'... I own a 1000cc sport bike and my previous car was an Evo... Neither of which I consider to be fast... When I think fast... I think '**** my pants' kind of speed... Anything less is nothing more than 'quick'
It's all a matter of opinion and what kind of vehicles you've had the opportunity to ride in I guess.

after cruising at Mach 3.2 in my SR71 blackbird, man does my twin turbo hayabusa feel slow as ****, then i hop in my space shuttle and cruise at 17,500 mph for a few minutes, and i'll be damned if that blackbird doesn't seem slow as hell

^--- oh yeah for sure, I fully expect to be in the high 12's with headers and new tires this season. In my opinion, anything in the 12second range is considered to be fast by the general public.

I am waiting on my Forgestar F14F and suspension to get here. Once done with that I'll have to do these 3 mods.
Is there a way to make my freaking traction control stay off for at least the duration of one drive?
#41
yes, since you have an 07, hold the traction control button for 7 seconds, if you have an 08 then you have to hold for 8 seconds and so on...
if you just press it then it will come back on once the car reaches about 30...
btw, I'm kidding about increasing the hold seconds by year...

I just traded my '10 IS250 for an '09 IS350. Yes, there is a huge performance difference. I love them both, but the 350 is definitely a surprising car. It most definitely "feels" like it has more than 306hp.

No.
There is a caveat, though. To achieve optimal acceleration from a stop, you must have traction control disabled.
Disabling traction control on an '07-'11 model simply involves pressing and holding the traction control button for 5+ seconds while you are at a complete stop. Traction control can be re-enabled simply by pressing the traction button once at any point afterward during the drive (you need not be at a stop to re-enable traction control).
Disabling traction control on an '06 model, however, requires a relatively more involved "pedal dance" that can only be done while you are in park. And, the only way to re-enable traction control is to shut the car off completely.
