Default Headlamp washers don't work

So I a month back i had someone lightly hit my front bumperand driver sider fender where the two meet. I took it to a local body shop to get fixed. Now a month later I realized my headlight washers don't work properly. When i hit the button they go up halway and just stop. If i hold the botton water squirts out but not at the high pressure it used to. If i hold it even longer they go up all the way but they never retract, they just stay up. I have to manaully push them down. I'm not sure if I should bring it back to the bodyshop or bring it to Lexus.

First thing the dealer's gonna say that the problem is caused by the accident/hit and they will just void the warrany

The only way to void an entire warranty on a car is to write it off. If it was damaged because of the collision, Lexus has every right not to repair it under warranty, they'd likely charge you for it (for good reason). The body shop on the other hand does have a responsibility to repair it. That was their job, I'd go back to them.

Good luck.

Jeff

I'm not some unknown lurker on the board who does not know anything. Please keep your irrelevant and nonfactual posts to yourself.

So does as anyone know how the headlamp washers work? How are they mounted on the inside of the bumper? I'm trying to figure out what could have gone wrong for the washers not to work.

Yes it just sprays, but that can do wonders when they're dirty. I love headlight washers, wish my car had them.

Yeah they work quite well, especially in area that use road salt in the winter as the salt tends to coat headlights.

I'm wondering if the body shop didn't reconnect/install them back properly.

Well that's what i'm trying to figure out. They are connected because they do go up, just not all the way. They do spray but just not as powerful. It's weird. I don't know what could have gone wrong. I'm assuming the setup is simple.

I bet the motor is damaged or the pump. Granted it works somewhat, it could be a sign that it's dying.

Weird for a car with 20,000 miles.
