as long as its not a g37s, you should be able to walk him. no need to launch, the torque is good enough to get him, but if you want to... dump it at around 4k.

You should be able pull a solid 1/4-1/2 out of the gate. Even if you lose, chances are at least 3 more parts will rattle off his car by the end of the race. So you still win.

It should be a very close race. Also it'll depend on which 2007 G. In that model year, the sedan was refreshed with a 3.5L V6 that produces the same 306hp as the IS350, and slightly less torque. In the coupe, depending on transmission your looking at 280hp for the auto and 298hp for the manual for 2007. The G is also heavier than the IS, so another advantage there. Good luck and be safe

he stated that its the sedan version, so I believe it has the 3.6 liter.

Truthfully it'll be a drivers race, with you having the tiniest edge. Our car really has 316 not 306 hp, and torque wise we have almost the same. Both cars run 13 second 1/4 miles. I think both car will be dead even from a roll, so your only chance of getting a real lead is off the line where our 1st gear annihilates.

I disagree with this statement. It has already been proven that the g37 is much slower off the line. If it was a g37, the is350 would hands down rape it until the triple digits, its only then does the g37 20 extra hp finally kick in. Truthfully I think the g35 was much better built, better torque and real forged rims, not cast like the g37.

thanks guys. i was already confident on me taking him but yall just boosted that up haha. i know in every race the driver plays a big part in victory but i have strong confidence in my car too. its freakin fast at take off. yea we might go to the track or we do live in the napa valley so there are pleanty of open country roads that no traffic goes through. trust me i wouldnt want to risk crashing my baby.

Isn't this post in the wrong thread?!

Anyway IMO the is350 should def stay ahead of an any g35. My 06 accord v6 coupe was neck and neck a few times w/ a couple g35 coupes back in the day. That same accord got spanked by a few is350s (which is why I was so hard up to upgrade)

4k rpm will spin your tires out, 1400 to 1500 rpm just about do it,

Exactly what I was wondering? I'm not a fan of either of those methods, but I'd still say that a minor roll off the line at 1500-2k initially and then WOT (assuming good tires) should hold you out in front nicely.

Remember:

Traction Control Off and use Normal ECT mode.

Brake Torque to about 2K RPM.... When light hits green, let go brake and go WOT.
