Steering sticks on slight right turn
Does anyone else have this problem?...
I bought my car a couple weeks ago and I didn't notice it when I test drove it. When I go around a slight right turn, just turning the steering wheel one or two degrees maybe, I can let go of the wheel and it stays stuck in that position. It takes a little amount of force to pull it back straight. I don't know if it's that big of a deal but it gets kind of annoying and I'm guessing it's be covered under my CPO warranty I'm just waiting to take it in when my plates come in. My car is an 08 IS250 with a little under 25K miles.

It'll be covered under the cpo...just take it in when you have a chance. You don't need plates... I don't have plates on mine yet and i've already taken it in a couple times for warranty work under the cpo.

I have an 07 that does this and I believe it is more of a function of the suspension and it being an AWD. It basically feels a little squirelly sometimes as you are coming to a stop or cruising kinda slow...it feels like it wants to veer to one side or another. I have experienced this since day one and I know it's not alignment etc because I'm getting even wear all around.

There is no way both are needed. First step would be zero point calibration with Techstream. Toyota or Lexus have this.
If you're going to pay for it, an upgrade would be a 2011 to 13 F-Sport EPS ECU or an IS-F EPS ECU. They make the car a pleasure to drive and firm up the steering wheel but that is not for everyone.
Next step after calibration, disconnect the tie-rod ends at the steer knuckle and place an inch pound beam style torque wrench on the steering wheel nut under the air bag and measure the torque from lock to lock in both directions. It should be higher (tighter and firmer) in the center.
Last question does it do it in both directions?
