Default 19 inch rims rubbing question

I put Genesis Track wheels (19x8 +35 & 19x8.5 +35) with 225/40/19 & 255/35/19) on my 11 350awd and ran into some difficulties.

Thought i'd document them here.

1. You can't use the stock lugs. Duh. Stupid mistake, but not one you want to make when your car is on the rack at the tire store. You need the acorn type with the graduated lip.

2. Genesis Track wheels will not clear the brake calipers for the front axles on the 2011 350awd's. I needed to order 5mm spacers in order to solve this.

And after all this-

3. The damn tires are rubbing in the front when I turn the wheel.

So I heatgunned the areas that were rubbing...but lo and behold two days later its rubbing again. So I hit the areas again. But it started rubbing again.

What would cause the rubbing to get worse? Settling of the suspension?

My problem is the tire is rubbing the rocker panel now. I'm fine with heat gunning fender liner and moving it, but the rocker panel is hard plastic and cannot be moved. It will either have to be filed or cut. And I'm hesitant to do that.

Also - My coilovers will be installed on Sunday. I'm not going for a crazy drop- I don't like tuck...i'll probably keep the fender between a quarter inch to a half inch above the tires.

Think dropping is going to exacerbate my rubbing problem?

yes, it will definitely exacerbate the rubbing.....but it'll rub in NEW places, like the upper fender liner.

oh the joy.

it maybe that the tires you got are too high. you shouldve aims for 35 instead of 40s

Oohh, you'll be rubbing more now. You'll have to pin point those areas and see what you want to do with those after you install.

I initially was...but wanted to keep the tire diameters as close as possible so as not to screw up my differentials.

The problem was the Michelin (pilot sport A/S) tires I wanted weren't available in the staggered sizes I needed while running a 35 series up front.

Moot point now. I'm not tossing $1400 worth of tires.
