If you live in SoCal, don't do it, NorCal you can get away with it. It is illegal in California.
Here's my story, I don't have plates in the front of my IS300. I live in NorCal, never had a problem and got tickets for it. The week I go down to SoCal to visit my sister, I get owned twice. Got 2 tickets consecutively for having no front plates.
YMMV, so ask people that are local to you, see if it is legal. If not, see what are the chances of you getting owned without front plates. If it is anything like SoCal, you better put those plates on or you're gonna being forking over cash hand over fist to the cops.

They ship a set of 2. Reason why I didn't buy them to begin with (but did later on after my vanity plate got stolen). Plus, I believe they were $30 for a set of 2 a while back, lol! Make sure you order two sets.

Has anyone seen one of these used? It mounts to where the front towhook would...

I've driven in WA for 20 years and have never had my front plates on. I have been pulled over once and was given a warning. However, I did get a parking ticket and the meter maid tacked on the "missing front plate" for another $38.

Was it a real maid? Did you get her number? LOL!
I have my front plate off. Nothing so far in WA and in BC, Canada for me.
Not sure if this law still applies, but federal law states if the foreign cars did have a front built-in license plate mount from the factory, the front plate is not required.
