Yes, for WA you must have the front plate on as well. When I asked this at the local dealership, the car arrives without the front plate holders. Only after it arrives, the dealership will eventually drill holes and have the holder put in place.

I also have been told by the dealership that on several occasions they have not drilled holes upon customer request; however they had a customer sign a waiver that the dealership will not be responsible if he or she does get a ticket for not having a front plate there.

I personally seen cars here and there without the front plates as maybe the cops are not really enforcing this, but you never know until you he or she ends up getting pulled over specifically for this - but if already pulled over then they would do it as a secondary offense if they wanted. Not just that, the parking police or mall parking security could give you a ticket for that well if they decided to.

If you live in SoCal, don't do it, NorCal you can get away with it. It is illegal in California.

Here's my story, I don't have plates in the front of my IS300. I live in NorCal, never had a problem and got tickets for it. The week I go down to SoCal to visit my sister, I get owned twice. Got 2 tickets consecutively for having no front plates.

YMMV, so ask people that are local to you, see if it is legal. If not, see what are the chances of you getting owned without front plates. If it is anything like SoCal, you better put those plates on or you're gonna being forking over cash hand over fist to the cops.

Without looks so much cleaner! I found my OE front plate mounting kit in the spare tire compartment in the trunk. It is now tucked away in a box somewhere in the garage. No way I would put it on mine.

This!

I would love to run it without, but 4 holes in the bumper is even more unsightly.
