Driving with TRAC Off
Has anyone does this for a long period of time and monitored their fuel consumption?
I kno driving with TRAC Off on my IS300 works wonders for my MPG but have yet to try it for my 250.
Imma try it once I do my next top up to see if I can get more than 500kms + per a tank.

hmmm, why would that be do you think?
It's not like my trac comes on that often. I'd understand if it was always going off and you just kept trying to accelerate instead of easing off but if it hardly comes on, then could you really expect better mpg by having it off?

During accel or even cornering the TRAC could kick in and cut throttle if it detects any slipping which equals wasted gas.
My 300 suffered from it due to the traction control being too strong.
Im gonna try it and post my results.

I'm with MikeZ -- if your traction control is engaging regularly on dry roads and you are concerned about fuel economy, it's time to look at your driving style.
Traction control does two things when it detects slip. First it applies the brakes on the side of the car where the wheel is spinning, in order to transfer torque to the side that still has traction. Second, it cuts the throttle. Both of these seem like gas saving measures compared with the alternative of doing nothing and permitting the output of the engine to be wasted creating heat and smoke while vaporizing the rubber off your tires.

Heck I feel guilty whipping around my AWD 250. Such a heavy system for a small motor.
