Default Is all TPMS same???

I just bought the 2011 is350 AWD, I had some previous rims that I bought for my old car (a 2007 Nissan altima with TPMS)

19in TWS estroil, I bought the rims at discount tire,

My question is can I put those rims onto my lexus with the old TPMS or do I have to buy a new set of rims and TPMS

The guys there said that all TPMS are different and the rims might or might not fix..

Are they just busting my ***** so I have to buy new rims or can both rims and TPMS can be use with the Lexus..

Tks in advance club members

I honestly think that they are different, just for the fact that you have to go to Lexus to get your TPMS sensors programed to your car. I would just play it safe and get Lexus/Toyota TPMS sensors. You don't have to get new rims, just sensors...

Please correct me if I am wrong

They should be able to take the tpms out of your Lexus wheels and put them into another set of rims. They may make you buy a TPMS replacement kit, which is just a rubber grommet really, but tell them no cause its only a 2011.

Oh and if Discount Tire is telling you that, please let me know which store and employee you talked to. I'll contact the manager for you and get that all taken care of.

Use the ones you have. They will run you at least 75+ per one. So you'd spend at least 300 for something you already have.

Ebay usually sells all 4 TPMS for roughly 60 bucks...maybe have a look there?

I thought you only needed to get them programmed if you used 2 different sets of tires (ie. snow tires) throughout the year that used a different psi setting?
