Definitely prefer 06-08'. This is a convo I had with my GF when we spotted a new 09' 2IS at night.

GF: Those taillights look different from your car.
ME: Those are the new redesigned taillights.
GF: They look ugly. They look like fat checkers.
ME: Yes, they do...

 

i perfer the isf tail lights with the clear sides instead of amber.

 

2011 or 06-08 inner with Is-f outers

 

I like the '06-'08 better. It looks better especially at night.

 

So when you red it out is it just the ISF tails with a layer of red film inserted ?

 

Agreed, amber lens make a difference from a safety standpoint and somewhat likely new US regs will require them in future.

 

06-08 looks like they're squinting at me. 09-10 are a arrowhead design so it reminds me of a spaceship. My favorite is 2011.

09+ has grown on because of how aggressive it looks when lit up at night.

 

Yeah, same here. I still think the 06-08 2is should of came stock with clear outers. Even Nissan maximas have reds/clears.

I may be of the minority, but I personally believe the 06-08 with amber looks the best. With the newer style tails, I don't like how the swoosh design looks or how they look lit up at night.

 

In your best interest, you should set up a poll in the first post if you can.

I hated the new design when it came out, but they've really grown on me, as with all the other updates on the car.
The "swoosh" as everyone is calling it helps the car appear wider, and the four additional leds at night help with visibility.

Now, if anyone who has the 09+ lights wants to trade for my 06...hit me up!

 

I find the 06-08 tails look like halogen tails lit up.....kinda outdated

09+ clearly look like LED's
