I've been looking at IS350's for a while now and I've heard a few people mention an ML option although I can't find out what it actually is? Can anyone explain? And what years was it available?

 

Mark Levinson.... its basically a upgraded sound system and a DVD player.... may have more features, but I've never looked into it bec I'm good with what I have.

 

Oh okay.. So does the dvd player just play through the NAV screen?? Can you hook up headrest monitors to it?

 

Anything is possible. I have no idea how that would work though.

 

yes ML is an upgraded sound system with a few extra speakers and the main thing is the dvd player. can you hook it up to headrest monitors? sure you just have to run cables. any audio shop should be able to do this easily.

keep in mind though there is a lock out feature that you can not play the dvd while the car is in motion. you need an override switch. there are many different kinds out there. i have the PS kit which imo is the best for the situation. it may be a bit pricey but its certainly worth it imo.

 

You also can't ever play dvd's if you get an IS with Nav. Only the ML has the DVD player.

 

true but you can still play movies on the navi screen as long as you have a VaisTech unit. you can play videos from your ipod to the screen.

How do you know if a car has the ML option?? Does it have something on the stereo that says it?? Just so what to look for if I'm looking at one.

Almost got one with ML but I'd rather have pre-collision. Would be silly to watch while sitting in the car anyway.

i have the ML in my 09 IS250, Non-Navi. Will it play DVD disc's with mp3 data burnt on it?

 

Even on a car with both Mark Levinson and navigation, the DVD player is for movies only. It won't read DVD data discs with MP3 files. On a non-navi ML, I don't think it even has a DVD player.
