I'm so tired of trying several different types and brands of cheaper wrenches just have them stretch and then slip. I finally ordered one of the Assenmacher TOY640 wrenches that some others here have recommended. Can't wait to give it a try.

Go with a "real" one and spend a little extra. I think I picked mine up for around $25. WAAAY better than the crappy plastic ones.

I'm no longer selling them but you can get them from Toyota dealer rather than the jack up price that Lexus wants to sell for. You want the 64mm one made out of stamped steel.

No, the stamped steel ones eventually stretch out and slip. What you want are the cast ones, like the genuine Toyota SST, or better still, the much cheaper Assenmacher TOY 640.

How long is EVENTUALLY? You can change your oil every 5k and it would take 40 change to make it 200k miles, and even by then it shouldn't stretch. It takes a lot of effort to stretch stamp steel with 1/16" thickness, and unless you go all out tightening the cap it shouldn't take much effort to remove it.

If you over tighten it every time, I'd more worry about your thread than anything else.

The same engine oil filter housing design is on the Toyota truck and they have no problem using this stamped steel, so why would your car have problem?

I'm due for an oil change but can't find the AST TOY 640 oil and filter wrench I bought back in Jan '11. Just ordered another one off amazon. Hope it's still the gets option out there. I paid $18ish this time with shipping. Last time was $20ish
