Default headlight help please

okay, so my uncle recently bought a 2011 toyota tundra and asked me to change his yellow halogen lights to a white light. Are there any alternatives to hid that will result in white lights? And if not, how hard is it to do an hid conversion on a car?
tips? help? thanks

There is a huge selection of plug-and-play HID kits out there nowadays. It shouldn't take you more than 30 minutes to install an HID kit. BUT PLEASE AIM THE HEADLIGHTS PROPERLY AFTER INSTALL! I get blinded by so many people who have the $100 to buy an HID kit but not the logic and brains to properly adjust them.

it is inherently difficult to aim headlights using a plug and play kit on unoptimized halogen projectors or housings. if you aim them too low it will undoubtedly rob you of much of your output, and shine a lot of light on the floor right in front of the vehicle, which becomes useless. Having said that it's still better to aim them than not because I also get blinded all the time by guys with 10000K kits in range rovers.

Anyway, if you do not want to go HIDs, you can try a blue tinted halogen bulb. Be warned though, that output will suffer greatly. It is akin to putting a blue film in front of the headlight housings. As far as i remember, there are no halogen bulbs that can provide a crisp white AND still remain as bright as the standard bulbs. However, I haven't really checked into these for a few years.

Silverstar Ultras and PIAA Xtreme White are decent halogen options, but still not a pure white.
