Default Driver side handle sensor not working

I just recently purchased a used 2007 Lexus is 250, couldn't be happier. However I can't figure out why the driver side handle won't lock or unlock the door. The weird part is that the passenger side works just fine. But when I try the driver side it doesn't do anything. Please any advice would be great, not sure what to do.

Never heard of this problem. Take it to the dealer.

my passenger side sensor seems to work much better than the my driver side. sometimes i have to try two or three times before the handle bar will unlock the door for me. I think its because continuous use slowly degrades the sensor over time.

Both my driver and passenger side sensors work intermittently (06 IS250). Sometimes its embarrassing when I have to stand there moving side to side hoping the sensor will detect the smart key in my pocket (and yes I do have a new battery).

I wonder if its easy to just swap out the sensors ourselves?

What are the chances that it is a blown fuse?

Do you have your keyfob next to your phone in a pocket? I have found my cell phone (Blackberry bold) causes some interference with the keyfob when opening doors.

Change the battery in your key fob as well just to see...

I don't think that will be the issue since he's able to open it on the other side.

I would try this..

It's worth a shot. It might reactivate your sensor or something lol

I tried that already, and all the fuses look good too. I've tried just about everything and my cell phone isn't even in my pocket. Not sure what else to do, I guess I have to take it to the dealer. I'm assuming it is going to cost me an arm and a leg though since I'm out of the warranty (over 50,000 miles).

Wouldn't a blown fuse control both sides (since the passenger side works)?

I've noticed that when I have my iPhone in the same pocket as my key, it takes awhile for the signal to get to the car to unlock the door. Once I remove the phone, door opens right away.
