Quote: Spend the extra bucks for the PS2s... It's worth it!!
Or get the Hankook V12s. Half the price of the PS2s and better performance too.

Neither are all-seasons, though since you're in FL I'm not sure why you bought AS tires to start...and neither have any mileage warranty whatsoever.

But anyway, you got 44k out of them according to your first post. On a tire with a 45k treadwear warranty, that is pro-rata after the first 2/32s of the tire.

50% is more than generous in that case.

I have been disappointed by my Pilot AS tires. I have only put 24k miles on them and all four need to be replaced (down to the wear bars). I have ordered the Continental ExtremeContact DWS. Hopefully these will last at least 30k. I drive normally so I think I just got a crappy set. I didn't go through the warranty because I got them at tire rack and then had the dealership do the routine maint. so I wouldn't qualify for a pro-rate on new tires. I wouldn't want them anyway.

I want to thank every one for the feed back. I bought the tires at 20k odometer and now my car has 42+ so the tires are at 22k miles. I bought A/S because I think they had a longer wear rating the regular pilots (supposedly ) and they were $10 cheaper. I am a huge Costco fan they have been great with me. Liberal return policies and 2% rebate. Unfortunately they do not sell Hankook and I think they are going to give me a credit for the tires so I cant go some place else. Thanks.

update
[QUOTE=typhoon44;6124493]I have been disappointed by my Pilot AS tires.
This is an update I go back to Costco and tell them I want the tires replaced, but I want the same ones. Since they always made an issue of having different brand of tires front and back. They called Michelin to place an order and SURPRISE ! SURPRISE ! THEY DO NOT HAVE ANY IN STOCK AND GUESS WHAT? THEY DON'T KNOW WHEN PRODUCTION WILL START.
I WONDER IF THERE ARE ISSUES WITH THE TIRE.

Well the ps2's are summer tires, so i guess people go the A/S for the all season?

I had the ps2's on my 350 before i swapped wheels and they were GREAT going into the twisties.

Then i switched to the A/S when winter kicked in and they weren't bad, but if you want good tires, ps2's are the way to go!

I would not expect them to pay anything if it is something I did, either through neglect or accident but if you did not get what you expected or thought you were getting because of defect or misinterpretation who is at fault then? I do not know if my situation is a rarity or common. But I have already spent time on these tires for an alignment, aggravation, and made to think it is something I did. and I only want the money so I do not have to buy another Michelin and can go someplace else and I would take a partial. I also paid extra for the road hazard warranty. I know PS2 are great. I research them before I bought the Pilots which were a great bang for the bucks. I think the wear rating on the PS2 are like 200 or about 20k miles.
Did you never look at the tires until you had 20k miles on them? You didn't pay for something and get something else, so your scenario is invalid. You got the product you paid for, but it didn't last as long as planned (but still outlasted the warranty period).

An analogous situation would be if you bought a TV that was designed to last 4 years, was warranted for 1, and broke after 2. Do you believe you deserve a full refund in that situation? You still got 2 years of use out of it, and they are paying you 1/2 of its original value, which is *much* more than it was worth being 2 years old. I'd say you got a pretty damn good deal.

If something is designed to last 4 years, and it breaks after 2, then that's pretty crappy. Hate to say it but things are engineered to break otherwise the cost to produce would not be affordable to the masses. If something breaks before it is designed to break then something is obviously defective.

That said, in this specific situation, the OP paid for additional protection (not sure what kind and am too lazy to re-read all the posts), and an alignment when he noticed something was wrong (before 20K), and is not asking for a full refund but the proration, which is fair. It is also fair that Costco issue only a credit. I say take the credit and use it for something else, and buy whatever other tire makes you happy.

I am wondering how my tires are holding up. Currently it has been driven around almost 8K now. The tires may need to rotated but will have the tire tech make the discretion since I can have them checked for free every 4K intervals.

First top two are the rears. Bottom two are th fronts.
