If you've done the above mentioned let me know how it worked out for you. I'm thinking that it might cause some imperfections such as bubbling my order from Areotect is pending your response.

I came across this thread, but would like to know of any possible negative effects or difficulty with duel layer application

You're talking about smoked tails, or just smoked amber parts?

how was the install? Any bubbling around the border of the redout? I'm also concerned about the surface, if whether or not the outline of the redout will be noticeable.

install was easy other than the corner of the outer tails. took a couple hours. there is very little bubbling, only because there is an indented line running around the turn signal part of the tail light. i forgot to cut the excess redout film around the edges before i applied the smoked vinyl. so make sure you do that and you wont see any outline (you can see the outline im talking about in the first and second picture).

that actually looks really good! has a nice dark look, but still able to see much of the red of the taillight.

thanks a lot of people (non-lexus owners of course) thought that those tail lights come stock. i wasnt looking for anything too dark and something that still allowed the brake lights to be seen in direct sunlight. just what i wanted
