The current IS first came out as a 2006 model year. Honestly this topic has been beaten like a dead horse. There are many speculation threads on this

There have been two significant refreshes already (09 and 11 models in fall of 2008 and 2010 respectively).

The change to the next generation of IS is widely expected in the fall of 2012 as a 2013 model but this is not officially confirmed by anyone.

Alright guys,

I just got back from the future...

Lexus is going to offer 2 different options.

They are going to revise the 2.5 liter v6 with an improved/updated version that makes 218 hp. same displacement though with a 7 speed auto. The tranny will shift like the ISF.

The 3.5 liter engine is being replaced by a bigger displacement more efficient 3.7 liter engine making 332 horsepower. A 7 speed auto tranny will shift like the ISF tranny.

The car will be close to 4 inches longer, 2 inches wider and a half inch lower. It will weigh 40-50 pounds heavier. Gas mileage will be about the same. I would show you the pictures I took, but the 1.21 jigowatts messed up my camera on re-entry to 2011.
