To remove them you just press down on them really hard and they lock which lets you take them out. Then unlocked them is the same process but on the other side (which is more of a pain).

Losing them is easy lol.

Huh. Thanks Optik. I tried that before but I guess I wasn't pressing hard enough. I'll try it again.

hmm... have you tried a Toyota dealer?

While I was installing the GFX sides, I misplaced a clip that held the weather stripping to the GFX side. I looked all around and could not find it. So I decided to call the dealership and they wanted $9 for that clip! They didn't have it in stock so I asked for the part number so I can call around other Lexus dealerships. Other dealerships wanted $13! LOL. Thankfully none had one in stock, so just for kicks... I called a Toyota dealer to see if maybe they use the same clip and sure enough... they had it in stock and to make it better ...$1.87!!!!!

Believe it or not, I actually tried that. (I had an electronic leaf blower handy since I just got done using it to dry my car.)

I leave all my clips off since they arn't going anywhere when the hood is closed anyway.

Then one day i went in for a service @ my dealer. Came home, checked the oil level and what do you know.... they put all new clips in for me haha.

Im glad Im not the only person that thinks that is super freakin expensive for a little plastic clip. I posted a similar thread like this when i found out how outrageous the price was, and all i got was "why are you so cheap?" or "if you can't afford the clips, you shouldn't have gotten a Lexus" and a bunch of crap like that. :-/ i just thought it was waay too much for a little clip.

$6.80 for 10 from these guys.

You can also search for Lexus or Toyota if you need something different.
