Default Pin clips?

Not sure what they are called exactly, but they are the small black pins that hold the shrouding down in the engine compartment, When I went to replace the air filter today, I broke 3 of them and now to replace them. Like to get them online, but don't know what they are called. Don't want to end up back at the dealership for this.

I got some from Sewell parts on line

part number is

53259-0E010

Description is

Lexus OEM Radiator Support To Frame Seal Clip

Also, if you 'open' then correctly, you won't break them. I learned the hard way..thus the original need to buy more.

Check your owner's manual. It tells you how to do it.

I removed all of the placitc pieces and all the clips recently and didn't break one of them. You know its right when the 'pop up' is popped up like a thanksgiving turkey timer

I wanted to avoid paying $10 for these things. What are they called anyway? Must have a name.

Are you talking about the engine component cover CLIPS? Its like 15 or 16 of them. If that the case, the part from the dealer are 90467-07211 and it call the CLIP, cost 1.91 a piece. Hope that help.

Sewell

Cheaper than that. Only 90 cents each with ClubLexus discount, but there's still shipping.

^boo. i lost one, but when i got my free service, they never gave me one.

but i don't use them anyways. the only thing holding down my covers are the two 10mm plastic screws and the weight of the hood. with the hood down it's pretty tight.

too much hassle removing the clips to do something under the hood.
