Honestly, I bought an IS 350 F SPORT few months ago and I honestly like the fact that no one has my car, but I dont understand why I see so many 250's out there??? Is it a geographical thing? people dont wanna spend the money? I just need to know ... Any 250 owners out there can explain this? I'm just wondering is it THAT much of a difference as far as price? I know the 350 has mucho more power I would never skimp, any car I buy would be ***** out top notch ... Otherwise I would buy a low end vehicle with all the options and save 20 grand ...
just a random thought sitting here i'd like to hear yur thought questions comments conernc ... feel free to be honest and not care about what others say, i sure dont!
As for why I got the IS250, I wanted a manual transmission. Of course the price was also lower, but I just can't see myself driving an auto day in day out. I'd get so bored.
I was about to buy a used 250, but for 5K more, I could get a used 350 with more options and lower miles, so I went for it. There was also a used ISF that had all the options the 350 had, but for 10K more. So at the end of it all, it was down to spending 5K vs. 10K more than my original plan.
Most folks in the north east buy the IS with AWD which was only available for the IS250 (until this year). Personally I would have gotten the IS350 AWD had it been available a few years ago.
Also, I'm think some people can't justify spending roughly an extra 5k for 100hp, when they might feel 200hp is adequate. A Lexus is still a Lexus.
OP - Why didn't you get an IS-F? I don't see too many of those either around here.
Yea, the points already said and because your in NY. I work at a dealer in NJ and very few F-Sports have come to North East. Our first one is due in in about a Month. Another reason is because of the fact the AWD and FWD is more popular in the NorthEast because of snow and such.
A lot of people are content with just the 2.5L. For the everyday grocery-getting mom, 204hp is plenty. For those who aren't grocery-getting moms, there's AWD as an option and the manual transmission only mates with the 2.5L. It all boils down the needs and personal preference. I got the 3.5L because I like to go fast.
This is exactly like the GS350 and GS460. Same car, two different engines with an assortment in options. Some people want the extra power, some don't. End of story, no need to beat this topic over and over again.

Yeah, I really really had a tough time finding a 2011 IS350 F-Sport and was very fortunate to find one dealership willing to get it for me. It's rare to find a regular IS350 around here too.
I think theres a IS350 Vs 250 thread already haha. Its hella pages long. Or maybe it got locked, dont remember. People tend to argue over stupid stuff and take it tot he extreme.
If my .02$ are worth anything, id say its all just preference and whats suitable for the persons budget
I would have loved to get an ISF and was really close to picking up a low KM 2008 ISF...but in the end I really needed the AWD. I was super excited to hear that the is 350's come in AWD for 2011 so I opted for that instead. Now an AWD IS350 Fsport would be pretty cool...but at that point it's price might be too close to the ISF...with less performance.
didn't have the isf yet when i bought my 350... would i have bought it thou if it were out? i dunno... i prefer the isX50 body style more than the F...
