You cannot tell the difference between a cd track and the wireless version. They both sound exactly the same. I have the same track on a CD and on my iPhone and to me the wireless stream sounds exactly like the CD version.

Not sure how I can record a clip to demonstrate sound quality, as the mics recording is mono

The convenience of it all.

You are always connected with the auto-pairing feature. You dont have to fidget with any cables everytime you enter your car.

(for 30-60 bucks you can get a kit that'll do that and charge the phone too, which the wireless solution does not)
with the wireless solution all you do is plug the phone/ipod in to a regular charging cable/dock.

At which point you're in the same position as if you'd plugged it into one that charges AND plays music through the AUX jack though, except now you've got an extra set of wires hooked up (charger AND wireless-to-aux AND a charger for the wireless to AUX) versus one device that charges and does music to AUX

Don't get me wrong, your solution is 'cleaner' for short trips, but not so much longer ones.

Here's what I'm doing.

At first I was going to go Ipod.... do a hardwire into the cig ash tray.

However then I lose out on having a data connection which could come in handy.

Now I have a samsung epic phone, which has a nice looking car dock, however I didn't want to be having to run wires all over the place. Now with this solution it's just one wire, from the front cig lighter to where the dock is, going to try and locate it somewhere near the cd player as I don't plan on using cd's.

And that's only if I want to charge the phone while I'm in the car. If I don't want to charge it then it's just a few simple taps and I'm done.

I might still go the ipod route... this will make it even easier not having to worry about finding a special audio+power cable for it.

Thanks for the writeup, going to give it a try! Does it just use a mini-usb connection for charging?

It's not battery operated. It runs of a mini usb charger.

I have to really thank the OP here.

This makes such a big difference to me. I bought 4 of them and they work exactly like I was hoping.

Pair my cell to each one of them.

- One to the home audio system
- One to my car
- One in the boat (no it's not actually in the boat yet)
- One in the suv

Now without having ugly wires that break all the time......i can walk from my room to the car and it auto disconnects from the home theater and reconnects to the car and I hardly miss out on anything.

Put this together with Pandora, the sirius app, or slacker radio and it's even better

There are even apps out there that let you stream whatever music is on your home computer right through your phone.

What does this mean?

No multiple copies of music Just one computer/server (I have a server in the basement with TONS of stuff on it from all over the place) turned on at home and that's it. Combine it with apps and there is no need for you to carry any cd's / flash drives or have any sat radio receivers.....etc.

Sprint is really gonna hate my data usage this month, but hey, I pay for it!

Man, I just missed out. That seller is all sold out and no one else even comes close with the pricing.

I didnt have to use a ground loop isolator, just used a direct 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. No humming at all. But there are lots of cheap hum eliminators out there that do the trick

There's a TSIB for the humming, Lexus fixes it for free under warranty.
