Default IS350 Touchscreen not working!!!Help

Hey guys I have a 08 IS350 with the non ml touchscreen nav and the touchscreen stopped working on any other screen except the map. When it is on the map it only scrolls down like I touched the bottom of the screen. I took it in for the valve spring recall and now the dealer is trying to blame it on my aftermarket audio setup and is threatening to not cover it under warranty. I have done multiple searches and found that this is a common problem on the 250 and the 350. Has anyone else had this problem and how did you have it rectified, any help would be really appreciated.

i had this problem on my 250. if i remember correctly, i was pressing the icon to set a destination and it was clicking but the screen was not updating... i think it took about 20-30 minutes for it to work again... fixed on its own i guess... havent had the problem since... but unlike you, i dont have an aftermarket audio setup.

Politely explain to your dealer that under federal law (the Mangunson Moss act) he would need to provide proof that your aftermarket stereo caused the defect in question in order to deny warranty coverage and that if he's unwilling to do so you'll be happy to contact the FTC and inform them of his violation of the law.

The couple times I've ever had a dealer try that crap they backed down soon as I mentioned an awareness of the law.

(disclaimer- never had the issue with a Lexus dealer, but then this is easily the least modified car I've owned)

(now, if something you did actually DID cause it, you're outta luck... but if all you did was like add a sub or something I'd be hard pressed to think of any way the two even could be related.)

I for sure didnt cut any wires anywhere near nav screen. Besides my radio is working perfect it's only the touchscreen. I told them this morning that there were multiple cases of the digitizer going bad on all model IS's so we will see what else they try. If they try more crap I will try the magnuson approach.

The car is still at the dealer, they called this morning and I kindly informed them that the radio and nav screen are two different entities, also that all my audio system wiring is done after the factory amp in the trunk and not one wire has been spliced, cut or tapped into near the Nav screen. I am now in a holding pattern to see what they come up with.
