Sirius XM Radio is the OEM. If you buy it, buy it off Sewells and DIY. DONT INSTALL at the dealership. Its really easy and they will charge you at least $200 to do it.

Generally XM if using the factory option.

There was a SIRIUS factory tuner for a brief period, but it was much less well integrated and wasn't around for too long given the merger.

(The XM tuner installs invisibly under a panel in the trunk and is totally plug and play including the shark fin antenna... the SIRIUS tuner installed under the passenger seat and required taking the dash apart to install).

All 2IS are at least XM ready. (either that, or they have the tuner already in them).

Press AM-SAT a couple times...if you never get anything but AM radio then it's XM ready. If you get XM, well, then you already have it.

Install is entirely in the trunk and very easy for the OEM XM tuner.

06 is too, you just have to stick an antenna someplace... all the install work in the trunk for the XM receiver is the same though.

This company carries it, and you can have someone install it right behind the radio in the dash, no bulky accessories

Why would anyone order something they had to take the dash apart for when the OEM XM receiver installs plug and play in the trunk?

Agreed. Go with the OEM XM receiver and install it yourself. The install can be done well within one hour. (although it took me a bit longer because it was my first time and didn't want to break any clips, etc. )

It's strange. I have OEM satellite, but don't have any shark fin or visible antenna.
