I haven't been active on this forum in a couple of years but came here looking to see if other 2IS owners have tried the MS-8 yet. I just installed the MS-8 in mine and struggling through setup and troubleshooting to get this thing sounding as good as hyped. It's a lot more work than those JBL videos portray, for sure.

There's no plug & play harness for this. You have to intercept the speaker outputs from the OEM amp and connect them to a molex harness that plugs into the MS-8. Then from the MS-8, you either use the low-level outputs to aftermarket amp(s), or the hi-level outputs and reconnect them back to the wires out to the speakers that you cut at the amp.

I'm still working on the setup. It works, and sounds pretty good, but I've been trying to eliminate a nasty turn off pop in my system. JBL's tech support sucks. They don't respond to online requests for support, and trying to get someone that you can understand and that can actually provide helpful assistance is impossible.

I finally got a couple of ideas I'll be trying today, and a new firmware update for the MS-8 from JBL that may fix the issues I'm having. I'll post a followup once I get this thing completely figured out. I won't be able to say how much it improves or affects the OEM system, because I've gone to an aftermarket front stage and custom kicks in my install.

I think those high level inputs are the culprit of the pop when you turn the amp on.

Where did you get the firmware update from? Can you please post the link?
Thanks.
