Default '06 IS250 VS '11 IS250 Performance Differences

Hello All,

I am a new member to this forum. I apologize if this topic may have been already covered (I have not been able to find answers to this yet)

I previously owned an '06 IS 250 and I recently picked up a '11 IS 250. It seems like the previous model was somehow more responsive in its acceleration compared to the latest model. Has anyone else managed to notice this difference? Could it be related to VDIM? I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on this.

Thank you,

apok

Mechanically, they are the same... Over the years of you driving your 06, the ECU learned your driving pattern. The new car will take some time to re-learn everything. You're starting with a fresh car, give it time. Cars also loosen up over time. It has been proven that cars get faster after putting some miles on them (especially if you follow the "long term road tests" in road and track and magazined like that).

Here in Europe there is a mechanical difference, due to the differential change, the car is now more fuel efficient, but 0-100kmh time is increased by 0,1 second. Like RTI said, the car should also loosen up over time.

Thank you for the FB, I thought that perhaps waiting was the wisest approach. I did not realize the ECU was that smart.

The LED headlights in the 2011 model are weighing your car down!
