Default F-Sport Clutch and Quick Shifter

Hey guys,

I have been looking into the F-sport clutch and quick shifter and have 4 questions.
1. How much will it take to install each one?
2. Where is the cheapest to purchase them?
3. What will they do for my IS250?
4. Should I purchase the clutch or shifter or both?

Much thanks,
Kai

3. ALOT (smoother, quieter, easier, but most importantly FUNNER)(if thats a word)
4. Shifter before clutch only cause the clutch is simply a stronger pressure plate and wont really change the feel of the (garbage) transmission. but as for the shifter oh man its like day/night.

I have the shifter and it's a shorter throw, but not that short. Try Lex Tuners in the vendor forum. They have all the dealer F Sport items at discounted prices. Nice guys and smooth to deal with.

I have it done on my is250 its a big diff. All around ,but its not a cheap install . I did my car so I save the money on lobar but parts are $700 w/ both parts labor maybe $800-900 install in lexus dealer. Also if you have 30k and drive it hard its around 30k when cutchs are getting close to replacment . Thats what ive seen and done on cars many is250 6speed love it

I have both the shifter and clutch and its basically what he said ^. There is definitely a difference.

The lexus dealer quoted me 600 for install of quick shifter alone...so I installed it myself. It was a biatch to install...my forearms were all scratched up from the tight squeeze.

Will I get a better price on the install if I did them both a the same time compared to installing them separately?

Thanks

Really? 30k? I'm on 67k right now on the stock clutch. I didn't know they needed to be replaced that often...most of my friends cars have gone a LONG time without replacing their clutch. Is the IS clutch different?

don't worry, 30k applies only to those that can't drive a manual properly

Yeah my friend's clutches are '92 del sol @ 250k on stock clutch, '95 accord @ 175k before he replaced it, '01 corolla @ 130k on stock clutch, 02 a4 @ 130k on stock clutch. I spoke with Magnussen's Lexus a few weeks after I bought my car, that I should be looking at changing the clutch soon; stock clutch lasts about 50k on the 2IS (my car was 49k when I bought it). I asked my friends, and they said the dealer was smoking something...if the clutch lasts less than 100k, there's something wrong with your driving.

Is there anyone who had to change their clutch out because it was slipping? or did everyone just change it out just to put a different clutch in?
