Default converting is250 to is350

They are not selling is350 in Europe and I have checked that it is legal to convert the bigger engine if I do some brake adjustment. I found the brake information on the forum but
I would also like to know if is350 engine slips into is250.
What about the gearboxes, are they same? I have six speed automatic in my is250. Is 350 engine meets ulev II as well as is 250 but what are the real rates. Is is a crucial information for converting licence.

I tried to ask from Toyota but no luck so I hope there will be some specialist on the forum. Thank you.

From what I heard you need to switch all the wiring, ecu, etc (along with the engine and transmission).

+1 for the 2jz swap. if your going to even think about swapping the motor then get the 2j and make it count. a few guys on here already done it very successfully.

No they haven't. ONE guy, Lance from Toyomoto did it and it took a VERY long time.

Conversions like these are rarely cost effective. You'll need an IS350 from the junkyard to make it happen. The electronics are far too interdependent to just pull the important bits from one car to another, you'll really need most everything electronic to pull this off.

I'd take the advice of a previous post - buy an IS F - it's a better deal by far.

It depends if its rwd then yes you can swap the entire power trains if you have awd then no the rear chassis is different from awd to rwd. I did a 350 into a awd on a 07, you need to do alot of extra wiring.

Thanks for your advice and comments so far. ISF would be the best solution without the price. It would cost me 155 000 US dollars. Taxes are pretty high in my country.
I have to find out more about 2jz option.

I got this swap idea when I saw complete is 350 engine with transmission, driveshaft and engine computers on ebay. The price was 4 000 dollars. It would take another 1000 dollars to bring it here. It is much less than extra 100 000.

My car is rwd and if the entire power trains slips in without massive changes it would be makeable. Once again thanks for everybody and I hope to get more information concerning the subject.

So they sell the IS-F but not the 350?

The 2JZ swap was done by a guy who has done a lot of engine swaps and he still put several hundred hours into the project... and still has a few systems that don't work (though relatively few for a swap that major)

Doing a 350->250 swap would be a lot simpler... if you could get all the computer stuff and the engine and transmission the only other issue I can think of might be VDIM... pre 2009 models of 250s did not have VDIM, while 350s did... so there might be some confusion between the ECU and the various traction/ABS computers on that point but I don't know enough about the details of the interaction of those systems to say for sure.

Yes you are right pearlis250, they don't sell is350 in Europe but you can buy ISF if you have money enough.

OK, I believe that 2JZ is out of my reach. Thanks for saving my time.
