Default IS250 diesel engine?

2 days ago the temp dropped to 34F and when I started my car, it felt like diesel engine for the first 5-8 minutes..........

Thought I would put that out here and see what anybody has to say about it!

I think there is a diesel version of our cars in Europe. I think its called the IS 220D and does not have dual exhaust.

So are you saying the thing ran great, had tons of torque and gave great MPG?

IS200d or IS220d, both have a 2.2L I4 diesel and yup, single exhaust.

(IS200d is a more efficient version of the same 2.2L diesel, it is new for 2011, though the IS220d is still being sold in some countries as well).

I remember hearing and reading reports that there were problems with the IS2XXD series with diesel engine. Not sure if anyone else can confirm this.

chikoo, you answered your own question in your original post. See what happens is the car is already noisy enough with it's loud dirct injection. You hear the injectors working harder as you accelerate. Where cold weather plays a huge role in how a car starts in the morning. The car is warming up it's internals so it's already accelerated, more so than in summer weather. Nothing to be alarmed about, if you had an exhaust all you'd hear is the loud exhaust tone until the rpm drop down some.

I love cold starts, the car absolutely roars on start up with intake and exhaust

I live in Wisconsin and its 9 degrees right now so I know exactly what you're talking about. 0W30 oil will make it run smoother on start up and not give that diesel noise. also I've noticed in cold weather my belts run loud - after some squirts of belt dressing and a 0w30 oil change, your car will sound just like it did in summer when it was 75 and sunny
