Default HID fog interferes with park sensor?

Hi all, i'm posting this here because i know lots of IS owners do the HID fog mod, and i'm hoping at least some of those have the park sensor. The problem is actually on a GX460, but i did a search in that forum, doesn't seem like too many owners are modding there.

Anyway, we installed an HID fog from HIDXtra, and somehow it's interfering with the park sensor. It causes the two front park sensors to come on intermittently, but as soon as we turn off the fog lights, the sensors would go off and return to normal. As you know, there are also two front corner park sensors, and those seem to be fine.

The ballasts were positioned behind the fog lights screwed into some plastic piece inside the bumper near the wheel well area, so it seems it's sufficiently far away from the front park sensors to be interfering.

Anyone with this problem before with HID fog and park sensor?

Thanks!

whoa...that is interesting.

What is HIDXtra's take on this?

and so that we know, is this a regular, mid-slim or the slim ballast?

i just sent them a PM, so I don't know yet. i just thought i'd also ask here in the meantime in case someone knows the cause or fix. Do they make a mid-slim ballast? Anyway, it's the standard ballast.

i also just found another post with apparently this same problem (don't know what company's HID kit though) on a LS460. It was from someone's reply to another LS460 owner's HID fog mod DIY, who btw didn't have this problem.

yeah the regular. i've sent them a PM. Just to be clear though, I'm not saying it's their fault or anything. in fact, we have their kits on two other cars that are working great, but neither have park sensors so this is new to us.

as far as the ballast location, they're actually as far away as i could think of from the front sensors right now in the front bumper area. Basically the front sensors are near the top center bumper, whereas the two ballasts are at the two ends and sitting at the bottom of the bumper. Any farther would probably have to be further in into the engine bay. weird thing is the front corner parking sensors which are much closer to the ballasts were fine. i wonder why?
