got in a fender bender this morning... stupid leaves... I couldn't stop and slid into the back of a mini van... you guys think its totaled?
Someone hit me in the rear as well but I don't have a picture of it. The damage in the rear is not bad at all though... just some scrapes and broke the reflector.
It depends on the value of the car before damages...looks totaled to me. If not expect it to be very expensive. My 04' TSX(no longer own it) was rear ended and just the rear bumper and driver side exhaust was a little bent and I was insured $1700 for it. I didn't even need a rental car.
depends....my cousin was in a infiniti fx, the suv looking ones and got rear ended by a low to the ground corvette and the insurance said it was totalled and gave him $20k for it....more than he would've gotten for it if he had sold it. but yours doesnt look THAT bad if there is no engine or frame damage it shouldnt be totaled.
wow, sorry to see that dude. at least your ok, and no one was seriously hurt, i hope. looks bad though, it sure isnt any fender bender. only way to tell for sure is to have your insurance company take a look at it and they can determine it from then. on the other hand another member here just posted up a rebuild of a salvaged car and it looked twice as bad as yours, so hopefully theres hope. best of luck.
how much do you guys think the damage will be to fix?
I really can't beleive there is that much damage... I wasn't going that fast when I hit this person. When I was in the car I thought it was just a little fender bender until I got out... I hope its totaled though because if its not the value of the car will plumit.
just by looking at it and assuming theres no serious damage to the frame or suspension, and its just mainly exterior damage. my guesstimate is your looking at the least $5000.
To fix a small dent/scratch from a hit and run on mine was ~$1400, and they didnt replace any panels/parts. $5k seems way too low, IMO. I would guess more around $10k, but thats my guesstimate as well.
I had a shattered passenger side window and a [i]slightly[/b] bent frame (from some hooligan initially trying to pry the window open) and the total cost was $2400 (that includes my $1000 deductible).
There is no way you're going to fix that level of damage for just $5000.
i did say 5K at the least, i guess im just trying to be optimistic about the situation after all thats what insurance is for do we dont have to pay those ridiculous prices. as for the 2nd question, i really dont know. i've never had the insurance company cover me for a total car.
