Quick question....how well does that CF overlay hold up? Does it scratch/tear easily? Also, has anyone ever tried removing it? Would love to do a CF overlay in my interior, but worried about removing it if I ever sell it...

The 3M Di Noc is one of the best quality and it is extremely durable. Have a look at the following video that shows you how durable this product is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ys_hDHsqtWI

It doesnt scratch or tear easily (unless you have a tear in vinyl already then this can expand if pulled or stretched)

And yes I have tried removing it. It doesnt leave any marks or residue behind. It can be easily removed and you can revert back to OEM part

That's quite a relief to hear considering it was the cause of my hesitancy. I'll just add it to the cart along with the red-outs now!

Thanks for the detailed tutorial! The steering wheel looks great!

There isn’t any way to make the 3M vinyl glossy after it’s been applied. Many people asked carbonmods this question and they tried it but no, it does not work. Once the part as been lacquered the 3D effect of the vinyl is lost and it no longer looks like carbon fibre. Also, the lacquer does not stick well and soon flakes off.

I am also considering re-stitching steering wheel to change stitch color to either blue or white.

Should i go for blue or white?

Since I'm a matchy-matchy person, that depends on whether you have any blue or white accenting in the car (ie: the blue f-sport shift **** etc).

I personally think you should leave the stitching black...but would still be very interested to see the outcome if you decided to change it!

What do you think of maybe doing them in silver carbon fiber....think it might be a better contrast. Anyone have any pics of that...or opinions?

That was my initial plan to do it silver. I purchased the 3M Di Noc in silver and then when i saw it I changed my mind. It just doesnt blend in nicely. The black one blends much nicer and looks more subtle.
