Melting dash
The dash will eventually crack with time, take it in and let them see it. It's a normal problem here especially in Florida's heat and we replace them every now and then. We are actually replacing one today haha
Good luck

No bad products. This is the first car that has done this to me. It almost seems the dealer knows about this problem.. The part that is melting is the front part of the dash by the windshield. It's the sun for sure but why? I've seen dashed crack but never melt. I'm taking my is350 in for the valve springs recall today. They said they will look at it. Again they said it's a problem. Maybe it's a problem here in south florida.

The big deal is it will get worse. And when dust starts to stick on it and you just wipe it with a wet cloth, it will start to leave a lot of marks. I left a figger print on the dash by just a soft touch. It's a lexus. It should not be doing that period! I spoke with a tech today and he told me they have changed a few dashes already.
Service Department told me that crumbling is more common (he made it sound like it was very common) than melting for Lexus dashboards. They mentioned that they usually take out the glove box to work on the head unit. They don't want to touch the dash material if they can help it.
Perhaps it only happens under certain conditions. Most of you are probably fine unless you're in the sun a lot.
Oh and Judd:
Only water and sunshine on my dash.
Man I thought I was going crazy! Just waiting to see what they say.
Don't park in the sun. If I get to work and there are no parking spots on the covered floors, I move the car at lunch time so it's protected from sun.
I replaced the dash in my Supra. It was a big PITA. No more sun parking for me...
