Default rearranging emblems

i know that rebadging the car in anyway probably means that my car is heavily modded.. or maybe it'll give ppl the feeling that i'm a IS350 wannabe

but all of that aside
just wanna do things to my car that doesn't require money
so i'm thinking about doing this

what do you guys think?
another reason is cause i think there's too many things going on with the entire awd IS 250 in the rear

i remember seeing a pic with a black or SGM IS with only the IS emblem and not the numbers.. anyone have source to that pic again? wanna see how it looks in real life

Looks solid. I think if you don't want the numbers in the rear, you should do that.

hey thanks guys!
i think i'll go ahead and do it this coming week

and the reason why i wanna keep the awd is cause i can cover the hole the IS was originally at, but it actually looks better than just having IS

and yes tommyt thats one of the ppl, i also saw another pic with a black IS with just the IS badge tho, without awd

I did it even though I have an IS 350...it keeps people guessing.

hey fsportgirl any precautions when i do it myself? anything particular i should pay attention to?

did you use a ruler to align the emblems to make sure they are straight?
i'm thinking how i can make sure the emblems are straight when i stick them on

i've heard of using dental floss as well
that's probably what i'm gonna try first
other ppl say fishing lines?

but i think the trick is to warm the emblem and the adhesive up with a blow dryer first..? then work your way under using floss

i just dunno how to properly align the emblems when i put them back on..
do i really have to use a ruler?

um. i taped around the edges of the emblem. so that the straight piece of tape on the trunk will provide a straight edge to line the emblems back up again

im thinking of rearranging my IS250 to make it read "2IS"
and since there are no 350's in australia anyway, people know im not posing

well there will be 350's at the end of this year, but there the '11 models, so will look alot different to my '07 250

I assume they tape it to keep the straight line when they go to put it back on. Unless they are painting them on the car . I painted my emblems green, kept it simple in the back. Bought some 3M tape adhesive from a local hardware/paint store, took off my emblems with an exacto knife+blow dryer, spray painted them with like 10 coats and taped them back on. Took like 3 hours (paint drying). But I like the awd IS you got going.

I ended up losing the alignment on the IS250 so I took it to a shop and they charged me $40 to put it on straight.

Personally, as long as you think your car looks good, then it does. I drive my car for me, not to impress people on the street (that just happens naturally ).
