Default Audio Suggestions

I recently had issues with my audio install but it was a blown sub.. Im on the market for a new sub but I have no idea what is good...What is a really good 12 inch sub that will be powered by a PPI Art series a600.2 amp in a sealed box? Im looking for something that hits hard but hits clean.
Also, My audio system just sounds off...I have it crossed over with a ppi art series frx456 and the stock head unit is converted with a AudioControl LC8. Is there anything else I can do to get it sounding better? My local audio shop recommended I upgrade to a JBL ms8 & use a Diamond D3 12 inch sub.

I've always been a fan of JL Audio 12w6v2's for hard, clean hitting bass.

As far as getting it to sound better: keep in mind that the 2IS head unit has a subsonic filter (I forget the Hz cutoff) so you can't get that really deep bass, at least the way it's meant to be heard. Maybe some audio gurus can chime in, but I don't believe the AudioControl LC8's bypasses that filter, but it shouldn't seriously affect your sound quality anyway.

JL is too hard haha I like Kicker for a much less "knock down the walls" kind of bass.

I have a JL Audio 12W6 v2. powered by a JL Audio 500/1 amp and bass control ****. it hits hella hard. Some of the newer digital JL Audio amps are even better. You won't be sorry!

well the 12w6v2 .. is one of the cleaner hitting sub's .. the sound quality is superb and it hits hard, pairing it with a 500/1v2 would be perfect in terms of sound quality and bass.

i'm not sure what this means.. isn't the "knock down walls" kind of bass hard bass? in any case.. JL has a good balance of SQ and SPL. kicker on the other hand, has more SPL, less SQ, which is probably what you mean by "knock down walls" kind of bass.

the 500/1 is the recommended power setup for the 12w6v2, but if you want the best sounding bass, you need to overpower your sub, as to have more control over it

Guys can you make some suggestions based on my preference...Im coming from a PPI Pro series piston sub from back in the 90s...They were known for SQ. I am looking for something with mostly SQ but can still hit hard. So far the shop I went too has a Diamond D3 and it was installed and sounded pretty nice in my setup.

Is that $150 tops for just the woofer or with an enclosure as well? With that budget, I'd suggest the Phoenix Gold RSDC 12, or the JBL GTO1224

The size of your sealed enclosure would help
