Does your radar detector, catch front and rear signals? The rear will be blocks since it's up close to the headliner.

 

i wired mine to the rear view mirror and mounted it to the left of the mirror. V1 ftw!

 

+1 I thought of hanging my 9500ix using a visor clip few years ago. Turns out that the headliner will block the rear.

Sure, it will work. But it won't be as effective. I pick up KA band from 2 miles away. I wouldn't be surprised if it cuts it in half to a mile or so.

Recommended mounting spot for the 9500ix is under the rear view mirror. Just grab a mirror mount for $20 and have it mounted underneath your mirror.

That's the only mount that's decent. I just don't like how you can see it. I don't want someone breaking into my car trying to steal my radar. Can you remove it from the mount without unscrewing and what not? If I'm parked at the mall or wherever I'd like to take it off and put it in the glove box

 

^^ it incorporates your stock window mount so yes you can remove it. just press your release button on your bird dog and slide it off
