Hello all,

Sorry this is a newbish question but I don't know much about cars. I had my tires replaced today, not from dealer, and was told that the wheel lock key is stripped. The guy managed to replace the tires but now I am missing 4 wheel nuts, i think that's the correct term, one on each tire.

The mechanic left me the parts, I have the key which is stripped and the nuts. I'm going to contact the dealer to have them replace it since they're the ones that screwed it up. My questions are, is there different wheel lock keys for each nut or it's just 1 lock key for all nuts? Thank you

1 key for all locks if you buy em as a set.

Hmm ok, so why was this mechanic able to put the nuts on besides 4?

cause it's one wheel lock per wheel. one set comes with 4 locking lug nuts.

i believe the dealership does sell the key separately.

if your mechanic stripped the key, make them pay for it.

Ah ok thanks for clarifying Jetfire. It was the dealer actually that stripped it. Gonna give them a stern lesson lol.

They probably used a impact gun and broke the key. Its $15 directly from McGaurd.
