Getting a fat dark strip at the top screams rice. If you do get a strip get a small one that blends with the car.

Or you can just move to AZ and tint all the way around (illegal but rarely enforced)

I am not sure about eye doctor, but dermatologist can give you a note stating that you need to be away from the sun as much as possible because of your skin condition (If you had one).

Yes, the top part of the windshield will be a little extra - it was $30 for the top part of mine.

I love the look of it and it was definitely worth the extra money, not only for the look but for sun blocking without having to drive with the sun visor down.

As for being pulled over, it all depends on your state tint laws; some states care and some don't. There is an "AS1" line on the top part of your windshield, and that line indicates the farthest down the windshield tint can legally go.

What difference does it make if YOU think it looks good or not?

The difference is the savings of $30 for OP and one less eyesore on the road (in IN) for us to look at.
See post #16 for another way to look at it.

I agree with the other posters, it's personal preference when it comes to mods to personal cars. That's why I stated IMO, meaning it's nothing more than an opinion. btw, thanks for providing the cost estimate, even IMO it's best avoided.

im tempted to do the front windshield as well (not just a strip either). the front gets really hot, especially from being parked for a long time at a certain place. my car's black with black interior, and ive already tinted the sides and rear windows. one of my buddies has a light huper optik tint on the front. though the shade is light, it rejects much of the heat nicely.

Its not as bad as you think, The front window looks really dark due to the inside being dark from the window tint on all the other windows. Night time driving is not that bad, Arizona streets are all lit up very well.

Im kinda leaning on gettin the strip now after seein some cars with the strip. I dont like the sun glarin in my eyes then havin to put down the sun visor either and not be able to see half the stop light sign, if u kno what i mean..lol
