I drove back down the street this morning, about 12 hours after the incident and found no signs at all of the raccoon. There were about 4 or 5 of them last night on the opposite side of the road when one of them decided to cross just as I was passing by. I'm guessing the remaining ones saw an opportunity and cannibalized their buddy.
I guess they figured, get it while it's fresh (killed).
It's good that your insurance company treated it like comprehensive, so you don't get a "ding" for a collision/accident claim.
I hit a raccoon on my way home from the theatre today, Raccoon lost but not before leaving a few scars. Bumber is cracked and the wheel well lining is loose on the driver side, a few of the panels under the bumper are a bit mangled as well. My deductible is $500 and I'm wondering if I should go through insurance or if the cost will come in at under $500. I've never done any body work to my IS so i have no idea how much something like this costs.
Thanks in advance.
typically hitting an animal is covered under Comprehensive coverage people usually choose a lower deductible under Comprehensive coverage
