Well did it to myself earlier today - just finished getting the 350 detailed and I shifted into reverse and idled it back slowly (like 2-3mph). Misjudged where a friend's car was behind me and bumped it. Scratched his paint (which obviously I'll reimburse to fix) and put a small indent and a small scratch on my bumper.

The scratch is the easy part - its like a dab of touch up paint. The indent is the problem, its not really noticable due to the car being SGM - but I'll notice it everytime. Anyone know if there's a easy way to take a small dent out of a bumper (might be the bumper cover too) without having to buy a new bumper?

Its a 5-6" long indent thats really shallow and not really noticable - we buffed out all the other damage. Other part that gets me is our bumper is so freakin' fragile, I hit the other car while idling back at like 2-3mph and it should've just been some paint markings at best but instead I got a dent.

 

That sucks considering I recently did the same to my car a few weeks back and had the bumper replaced just a few days ago. I backed into a towing hitch and there was a small square indentation. I took it to a dealer referred collision center and the bill came out around $850 for a new bumper, paint, and installation. I don't think I can handle somebody just bondo the bumper and repaint it...in my mind...the car is still imperfect...but that's just me.

 

My uncle has done these types of slighly bigger than normal touch-ups. He usually has to put in a filler then tape very carefully around the indendation...paint...then smooth the lines. Not easy to get it just right and it is barely noticeable. Most expensive thing is the paint. Usually runs about 50 USD to do it, but depends on the paint.
