Do you have a 2IS? If you do, you'd be wise to know Lexus does not recommend any service for the WS ATF in the 2IS. Drain and fill at each oil change wouldn't do much anyway except screw up the oil level. There's a rather involved procedure for getting the ATF level right in the 2IS.

Sorry, I hijacked the thread, I have a 1999 LS400 and just wanted to show how dirty airfilter got after 12K miles and all that.

Noob question about engine filter
Quote: you should just buy a f-sport or joeZ intake!
Iam a lil confused on why your would recommend two intake(i am assuming these are pipes) products when the post is about engine filters?

Which filter works the best as in terms of filtering air, is it the oem filter, k&n, or some other brand?

Thanks.

Correct me if i'm wrong, the service manual states that OEM air filter could be replaced very 30K miles. Why bother changing it every 12K miles?

My owners guide states to replace the engine filter every 30k BUT it is also to be inspected and cleaned every 5k. I tap it out and look through the filter at a light source to see how dirty it is.

The cabin air filter is suppose to be replaced every 10k. Again, inspected every 5k.

BTW my owners guide is for 2007 ES, GS, IS, LS & SC.
