Default Unbelievable Dealer Fail!

So Last weekend I was under my car to install my coils, and discovered I'm missing a nut on my driver side rear lower arm Wow this is the same dealer that efup my front bumper w/out telling me Lexus of Concord makes me mad They did the TSIB for my F-sport rear springs clunking noise about 4 months ago. So I have been driving like this since then. The bolt is in there good and never came off even driving for 2000 miles. Man I just count my blessings nothing ever bad happened, the torque requirement on that bolt is 161lbs so its pretty important, I put a temporary nut from Ace hardware for now until I can find ANOTHER dealership that can replace it. Ya'll start looking under your car and make sure you aint missing any nuts or bolts

Holy smokes... that totally stinks. You should write an angry complaint letter to service manager. I'm kind of worried too because my car is originally from Lexus of Concord.

Stevens Creek Lexus ran out of IS and had it mine shipped from Concord. I guess I better do some underbody inspections.

Call the Service Manager and then Lexus Corporate if you're not satified with the result. That's a blatant safety risk and is completely unacceptable.

That is quite effed up job. Talk to service manager and demand free service for next 5 visits. You're lucky you didn't get killed.

Def. talk to your SA and let them know about the incident and the tech who did the install. Mistakes happen but that is def. a safety hazard.

That's why sometimes DIY is better than dealer's work.

This definitely needs to be escalated to the Service manager, I would ask for more than 5 free services for this one.

You have to let them know. If they do this kind of shoddy work, they need to know about it before something bad happens.

I agree with all the above. If for no other reason, you'd want to let the SA know so that the tech who worked on your vehicle will get reprimanded. Think of yourself as being lucky. Perhaps some poor sole(s) (w/ or w/out passengers) won't be so lucky. That's just scary the more you think about it. Take the pictures with you too. Document everything. Hell...in addition to the photos, take the receipt of your purchase for the nut to back up your claim just in case they try to say that a nut was already on it.

Wow, that's ridiculous Jerome. At least you caught it before anything bad happened. Definitely raise hell with the SA. Maybe you can get a free service coupon out of it, then take it to Lexus of Pleasanton or Magnussen's in Fremont (my two Bay Area favorites).
